Interview with DJ KID C (Chris Stewart)
How did you get started?
I started in high school about 10 years ago but professionally in the clubs its been about eight years. I became interested in playing when I first went to an all ages party at Changes in Mississauga and I was impressed by the way the Dj controlled the crowd but I wasn't feeling his selections. At that moment I realized I wanted that power.
How did you get the name DJ KID C
How did I get the name Kid C. Well to tell you the truth, I was about to DJ my first all ages event and I needed a name quick so a friend of mind said you look like a little kid behind that table and then I guess you can figure out the rest. But you know what they say, when you look young that means you will always look young even when your 50.
What Dj's have you enjoyed playing with?
Clymaxxx would be my first choice because we think alike, but all the guy's are cool Scratch, Mastermind, Dr. Jay.
What is you favorite Style of Music to Play?
If I had to play one style of music all night I would pick the old school, Bobby Brown, Sheila E, BBD, MJ etc. Anyone can play a hit that's out right now but getting the crowd to think about the old days and jam is another story.
Best Club you have played at?
Favorite club to play at- it's a tie between Guvernment & Love Sexy. Guvernment because you are trying to please 1500 - 2000 people a night which isn't always easy, unless you play BET'S top 10 songs over and over again which like I said before anybody could do. And Love Sexy during the summer on long weekend Sundays. It's an out door event on the roof of the club which only hold's approx. 300 people, but they jam to the old school real old school, the jets, El debarge, new edition you name it. Shit they even danced in the rain on Caribana Sunday two years ago. Classic party!
