Sean Kanan's first big break came when he was cast in The Karate Kid, Part 3 directed by Academy Award winner, John Avildsen. He went on to star in the FOX series,The Outsiders.

In 1993 he joined the cast of the ABC daytime show, "General Hospital," playing A.J. Quartermaine, from 1993-7, which resulted in his being nominated for Outstanding Newcomer in Soap Opera Digest's awards.

B4 entering into the world of acting Sean had his eyes set on a career in political science attending Boston University,During his time at Boston University, Kanan satisfied his extra curricular requirements with acting courses and pursued roles on local television productions. After a role on the Boston based Spencer: For Hire, He moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting as well as finish his degree in Political Science at UCLA.




He followed this up with roles on the TV series Francis Ford Coppola,The Outsiders and Oliver Stones Wild Palms. He eventually moved to network television with roles on General Hospital & Sunset Beach, The Nanny,Lois and Clark & many more.

Most recently Sean Kanan starred in prodigal filmed on location in New York City, Abracadabra was directed by Julie Pacino(daughter of Al Pacino)

Kanan recently completed a four month run in the hit play, Its Just Sex..as well starring roles in theatrical films Hack,True West and Irish Coffee and in the feature film Jack Rio as a troubled Hollywood manager struggling with a gambling addiction which Sean produced.

Other film credits include the comedy Chump Change,the action films Chaos Factor and Extreme Limits,and the independent film 10 Attitudes.

Kanan starred in the feature, Carpool Guy. He landed the lead in the film, Sons of Italy, shot on location in Naples, Italy. Afterwards, he produced and starred in the feature films such as March,HACK & as well Chasing Holden, a feature he wrote which was picked up for distribution by Lionsgate Films .




In addition to acting, Kanan frequents the comedy club circuit and makes numerous appearances at the world famous Hollywood Improv, The Laugh Factory and the HaHa where he offers his perspective on his 10 years in daytime television, as well as living in Italy and getting beaten up by Daniel Larusso in The Karate Kid III.

He also travels with the USO, entertaining in places such as Bosnia and Kosovo & hosting various events all over the world .

Off the set, Kanan spends his free time studying martial arts, writing scripts, cooking, performing his stand-up comedy and pursuing his studies in Italian language and look out as Sean is set to release his book
